Blind Man’s Daughter – Only Human (2025)

Using music, Blind Man’s Daughter (also known as Ashley Wolfe) unpicks the intricate structures of reality, exploring those grey areas of life people often step over to meet certainty, clarity and structure in their lives. Celebrating the glory and the grittiness of that in between, Wolfe’s distinctive web of alternative pop, rock, and metal gives a voice to the forgotten, a line to the uncertain, and a deeper understanding of the other side to the proverbial coin. One of the most recent additions to her critically acclaimed discography is the single ‘Only Human’.

Keeping the ball rolling in what is already an exciting year for Blind Man’s Daughter, Wolfe releases her self-penned and produced song, ‘Only Human’. Following the well-received single ‘Give Them Me’, the US-based artist daubs her sonic palette with parts pop and rock, then meshes them with an alternative flair. Made for contemporary audiences with a modern-day melodic kick, although the theme is ageless and timeless, the track rolls with bold beats pulsating through the track, shimmering synths entwined with a rock-inspired edge, and the flash of soaring guitars rounding off ‘Only Human’s kaleidoscopic hurricane of sound.

Defining Blind Man’s Daughter’s sound is difficult – the one thing we can agree on is it’s alternative or avant-garde quality. Soothing and mellifluous, a string of light shines in the depths of the ‘Only Human’; however, it is the waves of tragedy executed in the darker sounds that offer weightiness and vulnerable insight to the provocative theme. Wolfe explains:

“’Only Human’ is a raw, emotional plea, an anthem for those who’ve been dismissed, silenced, or broken for simply being themselves. It’s a cry from the edge asking for understanding, respect, and the space to exist fully, flawed, fierce and free. This song is for anyone who’s ever felt like their voice didn’t matter. For everyone told they were too loud, too sensitive, too much. It’s a reminder that we are all just trying to be seen. Heard. Treated equally.”
