myah – glitter (2025)
Sauntering through the various realms of pop from indie-pop to folk-pop, alternative pop and pop-rock, singer-songwriter myah has a glistening sonic palette to paint a kaleidoscopic melody. Glitter-wrapped and honey-soaked, but with the brashness of a cheeky imp, the US-based artist is turning heads internationally with a growing reputation for confidence, energy, and exuberant enthusiasm. The latest addition to her discography is the single, ‘glitter’.
As with her well-received single ‘dodging bullets’, ‘glitter’ is one of the tracks from myah’s most recent album, i don’t know what i’m feeling. myah explains that this 17-track album “…touches on the crisis you experience as you start to get older and realise that romance and love aren’t what you’ve been told your whole life…” – ‘glitter’ captures the part of those experiences where “…those small, physical traces that stay behind when you’re in love.” Inspired by someone “…telling me they found my glitter in their apartment and thought of me. That really stuck with me…”
Continuing her collaboration with producer Tripped N Sat, ‘glitter’ is a glistening concoction of pop-rock with eclectic alternative-rock flavours. Sophisticated in its presentation, Tripped N Sat weaves bold beats with slick synths and bold guitars; however, while the track has a sense of harmony, the bubbling percussion ups its obscurity, pulsating throughout the single before joining in a united symphony.
Melodically, the tune is… well, in a word, experimental. The instrumentation holds its own, but myah’s rich vocals seem to bind everything while simultaneously erupting from the melody’s core. Warm, comfortable and soothing, ‘glitter’ is the love song looking at the butterfly-filled emotions that make everything so enchanting. Yet, there is also a sense of sincerity and naïve vulnerability, making the tune resonate on a more profound level.
In addition to the single, myah released an official music video for ‘glitter’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
