Bailey Perrie – Supreme (2025)
Entirely unafraid and possibly rather eager, singer-songwriter Bailey Perrie holds no bar when delving into the inner workings of people’s minds. From the impulsive decisions to trust a journey, even if it’s a little reckless, to feelings of being a background character in your life, Perrie uses fierce pop-rock anthems to splay everything out with raw, melodic emotion. Hailing from Australia, the multi-award-winning artist apologises to no one but stands tall as a trailblazer in the pop-rock music scene. Join us as we delve into her most recent release, ‘Supreme’.
Following her well-received singles, ‘Secret Millionaires’ and ‘A Piece Of Me’, Perrie joins producer Simon Giles to create the pop-rock feast, ‘Supreme’. Once again diving headfirst into personal relationships and the complexities thereof, ‘Supreme’ is a tale of heartbreak and betrayal, but with a twist. Instead of a song of tragic yearning, Perrie flips things, placing the betrayer on trial with justice being served. With lyrics like “the judge calls guilty for breaking my heart” and “you find you have got time to do/justice has been served”, Perrie emerges from potential despair to shining empowerment, sassiness, and a “well, you missed out, didn’t you?” attitude.
Staying true to her powerful pop-rock sound, ‘Supreme’ is a crash of 90s/2000s pop-rock ala Paramore and Avril Lavigne. Yet, while I might make these comparisons, they are only a suggestion of bold females making their way with raw emotions and melodies – Bailey Perrie can certainly be held among them. Crashing drums match soaring guitars, while a bold bass slides across the tune, ‘Supreme’ is a hit between the eyes with ferocity, ruggedness, and an infectious, can’t help dancing about sentimentality. Add Perrie’s rich vocals, and I find myself truly connecting with ‘Supreme’. Confident, powerful, and skin-tingling, while keeping a sense of vulnerability lingering behind the message of strength and resilience.
So, what is my overall opinion of Bailey Perrie and ‘Supreme’? Bailey Perrie is a natural talent, tossing out anthemic hit after anthemic hit. She’s the voice of this generation while clinging to timeless issues. ‘Supreme’ is another of her moving, intriguing, and just enjoyable singles. I am eager to hear more from her – an album, perhaps?
