Fernando Honorato – The Fire Of The Night (2025)

Primarily known as the lead vocalist for Swedish group Principe Valiente, Fernando Honorato has been turning heads since its founding in 2005. A couple of decades later, Fernando Honorato steps toward a solo project, shifting from the romanticism of Principe Valiente to something more intimate, personal, and experimental. In our interview with Honorato, he shared that “…the freedom has mainly been able to experiment freely without having to bounce ideas with others in the meantime. But also scary since it can be easy to lose yourself and become a bit “blind”… it’s been a very interesting journey.”

Taken from his debut solo album, Center Of Your World, Honorato releases the track, ‘The Fire Of The Night’ as an independent single. In the same interview, the singer-songwriter noted that, “… I just didn’t want to limit myself to anything really, but, as it is with influences… certain ingredients appear regardless of whether you think about it or not… ‘The Fire Of The Night’ is very interesting how a song can be perceived so differently depending on the listener’s own background and references… it becomes something special for each person who listens to it and appreciates it.”

While ‘The Fire Of The Night’ can be deemed a psychedelic rock-inspired melody, one might also read post-punk in the track. Moreover, while the vintage vibe drags us back to the 1980s, another individual might associate the single with something more contemporary.

For me, regardless of how you feel or interpret the song, the core of the tune is a dreamy freedom and liberation. A hazy combination of synths, drums and guitars weaves a kaleidoscopic brush of sound, but the vocals are bold, confident and an anchor in the sonic sea. It’s all about escapism, and one of the songs where you open your arms, take a deep breath and find utter, blissful, relieving release.
