Noam Peri – Poison (2025)

Bringing the heart of 1970s/1980s indie-rock to the 21st century, singer-songwriter Noam Peri offers audiences music that is “…both timeless and fresh”. With an indie flair, pop tinges, and a rock groove weaving across the sonic tapestry, the US-based musician showcases an innovative spirit but retains a grounded presence; in other words, she can send you off on a floating sonic bubble yet keep you next to her with a friendly hand. The most recent addition to her discography is the single, ‘Poison’.

Ending 2025 with a new song, Noam Peri taps into the complexities of relationships and everything that comes along with it. In her 2025 EP, Flowers, she opened a personal diary exploring disappointment and hope, unresolved yearning, transformation, and the move from an old to a new self. With ‘Poison’, Peri delicately unpicks the impact of poisonous love. She shares:

“’Poison’ is about leaving a relationship that was deeply impactful but harmful, navigating heartbreak, loneliness, and the realisation that it’s okay to feel sad… exploring the emotional struggle of a toxic relationship, heartbreak, and lingering attachment… It’s my way of turning pain into something honest, vulnerable and musical.”

Recorded and produced by גיא שוורץ (translated to Guy Schwartz), ‘Poison’ is a steady stream of vintage indie-rock fluttering into your ears. Dynamic drums meld with a bold bass and powerful guitar; add the interspersed piano and shimmering keys, and you have a tune that holds a wistful, sparkling, fairy-like ambience, but with that anchored rock sound keeping you in a comfortable space.

A charming but slightly eerie tune, Noam Peri’s ‘Poison’ can fall in line with the melancholy tracks of The Cranberries. It’s bold and confident, but it carries along like smoke that is both heavy and lightly hazy. Peri’s vocals continue that duality in a rollercoaster single with a husky silkiness and stirring roughness – both vulnerable and fragile, but strong and empowering. If ‘Poison’ is the way Peri ended 2025, I am eager to hear what she has in store for 2026.
