Gravité Fresq – Reality Is Premium (2026)
Turning “private anxiety into something monumental… a fresco of gravity where seriousness is both exposed and mocked…”, Gravité Fresq fuses vintage synth-pop, post-punk and indie-pop in a wash of music that is inspiring, fluid, but slightly glitchy and imperfect. With international acclaim, the Ireland-based trio are already turning heads with their unique music featured on radio stations, playlists, notable publications, and placing themselves in your brain through your headphones from your favourite streaming platform. The latest addition to their discography is the single, ‘Reality Is Premium’.
Following their well-received debut single, ‘Schrödinger’s Office’, ‘Reality Is Premium’ tackles a situation that every one of us faces, sometimes without knowing it: the collapse of honesty and authenticity. Artificial Intelligence (AI) makes everything you think you see or know questionable – heard of Grok? Where do we turn for originality, authenticity and genuineness? It’s locked behind a paywall. Gravité Fresq explains:
“We are drowning in AI-generated noise. We used to label the artificial; soon, we will have to tag the human. ‘Reality Is Premium’ is about the moment authenticity becomes a luxury good you have to subscribe to.”
Lyrically, ‘Reality Is Premium’ captures the anxiety of the “dead internet”; melodically, there’s an energetic life in the glitchy system. Self-recorded and produced, Gravité Fresq drag us back to the realm of Depeche Mode with pounding guitars, a forceful bassline, scorching guitar clipping in during the chorus, and hard-hitting synths rushing past in a head-spinning flash of kaleidoscopic music.
With the heavy beat, an electronic push makes the song ideal for dancefloors; however, its intensity makes for a more powerful alignment with the theme. The crackling, splintering sensation is almost like static energy biting from every side, but the band touches on surviving this AI-generated world. For me, ‘Reality Is Premium’ would fit in the soundtrack for The Matrix, and I’m keen to hear what else Gravité Fresq has in store.
