Archie Orme – Sacred (2025)

With a reputation for intimate performances and a confident stage presence, singer-songwriter Archie Orme is quickly carving his name in the indie-pop landscape. Named as one of “the UK’s most exciting independent artists”, Orme is captivating audiences despite him only started his musical journey, or at least the streaming side, this year.  Join us as we delve into his most recent single, ‘Sacred’.

Keeping the ball rolling after his breakout singles ‘Bang! Bang! Bang!’ and ‘Gotta See You (Again…)’, ‘Sacred’ continues to daub Orme’s sonic palette with shades of indie-pop; however, this time, the kaleidoscopic rub of paint leans further toward the indie-rock side of things. Recorded and produced with Brett Shaw, the track is a concoction of a bold bass, dynamic guitars, crashing drums, and a shimmering wave of synths lingering across the melody.

Interestingly, while the song brims with harmonic rhythms and soothing swells, a slight obscurity exists with each instrument bringing individuality within the united whole. Melodically, and this is just me, the pull toward a heavier rock tone during the last few moments adds edginess to ‘Sacred’. It’s not overwhelming, nor is it demure, but a chilled-out shift showcasing Orme’s understanding of the indie genre.

A sincere song with heart, sentimentality, and rich warmth – particularly in Orme’s hearty vocals – ‘Sacred’ is chilled-out, easy to listen to, and a refreshing breath on a mundane Monday. Lyrically, however, its profoundness increases, inserting raw emotion into the elegant tune. Orme explains:

“This track came from a place of emotional honesty. I wanted to capture that feeling of holding onto something fragile and meaningful in a world that often moves too fast to notice it. The electronic elements came naturally – it felt like the best way to express that internal chaos and stillness at once.”
