Breadcrumbs – So Sticky (2025)
Drawing together a wealth of experience, musicians Andy Neill (lead vocals and guitar), Dave Burton (guitar and vocals), Bill Waugh (bass and vocals), and Geoff Suggett (drums and vocals) create a brand of music that will leave you twirling in an audacious haze of punk. Formed during the summer of 2022 in the North-East of England, the veteran artists did just that – they began creating art and ensnaring the senses of anyone who would listen. Known for their hard-hitting, energetic, confident performances and enchanting songs, Breadcrumbs don’t take themselves too seriously but still delve into the grittier side of life. The latest addition to their discography is the single, ‘So Sticky’.
A precursor to their upcoming album, The Breadcrumbs – mostly written in 2024 but the tracks are receiving energetic praise at live shows – ‘So Sticky’ is a rapid rush of intense music. Tapping its hat at old-school punk, the track would fit perfectly at any punk show of the 1980s and 1990s. Made for the mosh-pit, Breadcrumbs fuse crashing drums, a bold bass, soaring guitars, and Neill’s gruff vocals; however, as much as it is perfect for fist-pumping audiences, there is soothing serenity lingering in the punchy song.
At only one and a half minutes, ‘So Sticky’ is short but is as impactful as any seven-minute classic rock tune. Light-hearted fun oozes from the track with amusing “hoo hah” in the background, as Neill climbs a vocal ladder with intriguing skill. Aptly named, ‘So Sticky’ is kind of sticky with the music clinging to your skin and Breadcrumbs dragging you along with cheeky winks and massive grins.
The album, The Breadcrumbs, is “…a joyous amalgam of existential dilemmas, despair at the modern world…”, a testament to the band’s thought-provoking sounds with weighty, intimate and intense words. ‘So Sticky’, however, is one of the happier tracks celebrating love and unity in a somewhat morbid reality.
In addition to the single, Breadcrumbs released an official music video for ‘So Sticky’. You can view the video below and/or on the band’s YouTube channel.
