Brook Fox – Together (2026)

During the Covid-19 pandemic, many people discovered different sides of themselves in lockdown – Brook Fox discovered his passion for music, becoming “…obsessed with songwriting throughout the 2020 pandemic.” An obsession turned into a zealous pursuit, and here we have the Welsh singer-songwriter, Brook Fox, passing our virtual desk. Known for his high-octane performances, emotional melodies and relatable lyricism, Fox provides solace and much-needed understanding with his music. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Together’.

Drawing on influences of artists like Two Door Cinema Club and Bloc Party, ‘Together’ is a drag back to the 2000s indie-rock music scene, but with a completely timeless narrative. Facing the desire to be accepted, to find yourself, and to unpick the complexities of… well, sometimes merely existing, ‘Together’ is, as Brook Fox explains, “… a love letter to the songs that inspired me in the first place… Lyrically, it’s just based around a night out in my hometown and just wanting to escape the judgment of being different; I think it’ll speak to a lot of people.”

Lyrically, ‘Together’ offers an intimate connection, but what about the melody? Recorded and produced by Tim Hamill, the track is a smash of indie-tinged music with a clip of heavier pop-rock wrapped about the edges. William Ellis’ bass guitar keeps the pace, while Leon Williams’ crashing drums take you on a rollercoaster ride. Alex Owens’ guitar soars across, weaves about, and slicks the song with a sensational flair, while Brook Fox’s vocals run along in rich, almost honey-soaked vibrance.

Harmonic from the outset, you find yourself dancing and singing along to this song. Even if you don’t know the words, the line “Together we can find a way to get out of this place” just sticks, and you’ll find yourself singing or humming throughout the day. A banger of a tune, this was a fantastic introduction to the talented musician and, given the mention of an upcoming EP, I am eager to hear more.
