Chelle – Ain’t Lovin’ You (2026)
With a fiery spirit, soulful allure, and ability to create a sound that is simultaneously classical and contemporary, singer-songwriter Chelle brings the creative pulse of Dublin to an international audience. Likened to singers like Gwen Stefanie and Blondie, her obscurity and innovation showcase her focus to “…build a sonic identity that blends grit with professional pop production.” While, as an emerging artist, Chelle only has three singles on her streaming platforms, she is already gaining rave reviews with global attention. The latest addition to her discography is the single, ‘Ain’t Lovin’ You’.
Following the well-received debut track, ‘Kiss Me Again’, ‘Ain’t Lovin’ You’ is a solid pop song with a whisper of R&B vocals caressing the track. Yet, while the single might fit perfectly on a 90s pop playlist and is ideal as a toe-tapping brush of music, it is not the pop nor the breathy R&B that offer a sleek allure. Instead, the reggaeton pump of soulful beats gives it extra vibrance, creating a song to have your body sway in a blissful, wispy soundscape.
Overall, the track is a melodic swoop of sun-drenched music in a silky wave of sophisticated production. The thing is, as much as ‘Ain’t Lovin’ You’ is honed, the honey-sweet vocals and glittering, reggae vibe offer something… well, not gritty or raw, but with a cheeky, unpolished cloak enhancing its mischief amidst the sincerity. Moreover, while an uncertain eclecticism exists, there is clarity and full-bodied assurance in the music.
Melodically, the single is one to play at top volume on those long drives with your hair blowing in the wind and a burning in your heart, and it’s empowering, emphatic passion lingers in both the tune and the lyrics. Chelle explains that ‘Ain’t Lovin’ You’ is “… a sun-drenched anthem of independence… that radiates self-assurance… Far from a typical pop ballad, ‘Ain’t Lovin’ You’ is a defiant manifesto of self-worth…”
Sincere, honest, and filled with blazing enlightenment, Chelle breathes life into a cold and mundane day. She made me realise how much I miss 90s pop music, and I am eager to hear more from this Irish songstress.
