Go Bury Your Monsters – In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love (2025)
In a wave of intriguing music and sparkling sonic fairy dust, Go Bury Your Monsters crosses European borders – Spain, Ireland and Italy to be exact – offering immersive melodies for the masses. Despite only a couple of singles to their name, the lads are turning heads internationally and all to critical acclaim. From Europe to North America and Oceania, the foursome has been deemed unforgettable, comforting, and a band to watch. We first came across GBYM with their debut single, ‘Science of the Heart’ – an indie-pop-infused few minutes of music; today, we take a gander at their sophomore release, ‘In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love’.
Taken off their highly anticipated upcoming EP Body Language, ‘In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love’ is a self-produced single that quickly solidifies their nostalgic leaning toward the sound of the 80s. In a fusion of classic rock and indie-rock, ‘In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love’ has both the hard-hitting rock-intoned melodies; however, its weightiness and heaviness seem to lie within the soft, soothing side of the coin.
Chilled out and tranquil, with laid-back calm and gentleness, the single combines soaring guitars, pulsing drums, a bold bass, and rich vocals with delicate ease. The lads take us back to that whimsical sonic river we travelled along in ‘Science of the Heart’ – all flowers and fairies. Yet, while ‘In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love’ is entirely charming, there is a hint of vulnerability and rawness wandering in the tune.
Delving into the complexities of romantic relationships, GBYM explore the “beast” that love can be with the protagonist lying in a pool of tragedy; however, as much as there is despair, ‘In The Belly Of The Beast Of Love’ is also empowering as he refuses to submit, clawing his way back to the world where fresh beginnings await.
In addition to the single, Go Bury Your Monsters released an official lyric video for ‘In The Belly Of The Beast’. You can view the video below and/or on their official YouTube channel.
