Kris Kolls – Little Game (2025)
Life is, in a word, complex. It’s intricate, complicated, a labyrinth of confusion and chaos – yet, it can be optimistic, empowering, hopeful, and brimming with the triumph of love. Singer-songwriter Kris Kolls lays everything bare, not necessarily ignoring the bad, but focusing on the good, content, and brighter side of things. We were introduced to the Turkey-based creative a couple of months ago with ‘I Think’ – an emotional exploration of self-worth and identity. Today, we take another leap into Kolls’ discography with the latest single, ‘Little Game’.
Following her well-received singles, ‘I Think’ and ‘Feel It’, Kolls continues her saunter through 2025 with ‘Little Game’. Self-penned, composed, recorded and produced, Kolls retains the electronic-tinged pop tune of ‘Feel It’; however, adds slips of Latin pop flavour to ‘Little Game’. Toe-tapping and bold, confidence oozes from the synth-driven sound, offering optimistic vibes from the outset. Yet, as the track continues, it tends to slow down, become less jagged, smooth out and incites a sense of languid tranquillity in its melody. The infusion of percussion and softer synths creates a harmonic, rhythmic tone that eases your heart and makes you grin.
Melodically, you gather a strong pop feeling from ‘Little Game’, and Kolls’ vocals meet the vibe perfectly. Rich and bold, her voice seemingly pierces the melody, entwining itself in the beats; however, just as it creeps up and lunges in, there is a sense of soothing, presenting sincerity and charm in its off-kilter composition. She’s an imp with twinkling sprinkles running about the tune, but she also holds your hand like an old friend, dancing along the tune.
Exploring the world of relationships and love, Kris Kolls unpicks the chaos in ‘Little Game’. While the track captures the light and dark sides of romantic intricacy, it focuses on the connectedness of true love and the power of making it through the bleaker moments. Kolls explains that “it’s not about perfection – it’s about knowing each other so well, no words are needed. Just one look, one laugh, and the mood shifts. ‘Little Game’ celebrates the beauty of being fully seen and loved through every mood swing.”
