Lauren Wallace – People Who Love People (2025)

At only 17 years of age, singer-songwriter Lauren Wallace is making waves with authentic, original, and inspirational music. Enlisting the aid of vocal coach and producer Jono McNeil, known for his work with Jade, Little Mix, and The Voice UK, Wallace has developed a sophisticated brand of contemporary indie-pop proving herself a talented musician; however, even with the guidance and support, she remains a young artist – both in age and time in the industry – and all her growth seems to have poured into her melodies. Join us on a musical journey with her song, ‘People Who Love People’.

Taken from Wallace’s debut EP, Salt Stained Lungs, and following her critically acclaimed single ‘Allegedly’, ‘People Who Love People’ leans strongly toward modern-day indie-pop sounds, but with a lingering of indie-pop wafting along the track. Her influence of Gracie Abrams is evident in the softer folk-pop vibe of ‘People Who Love People’, with the lyrical honesty of Abrams and Lizzie McGuire interwoven.

Produced by Patch Boshell, ‘People Who Love People’ is a rollercoaster of sound – well, actually it’s more of a thrust from sombre, softer, calmer tones to a crescendo of pop music twirling about in a kaleidoscopic whirl of sound. While the crashing instrumentation carries listeners from one still moment to a rush of music, Wallace’s vocals appear to navigate the sonic waters, giving you a helping hand instead of leaving you to the will of the music.

While Salt Stained Lungs is an EP of intimate, personal narratives, ‘People Who Love People’ is special, highlighting Wallace’s growth as a musician. She explains:

“’People Who Love People’ is probably my favourite song off my debut EP, Salt Stained Lungs, and is definitely one of the first songs that made me feel like a ‘proper’ musician. Thankfully, a few weeks out from the release, it still feels like the most authentic song I’ve ever written… It’s got layers upon layers of beautiful production (and lyrics that I’m actually proud of), so I hope you’re able to enjoy listening to it even a little bit as much as I do.”

In addition to the single, Lauren Wallace released an official music video for ‘People Who Love People’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
