Night Wolf + Lois Powell – The Laws Of Life (2026)

While Night Wolf has a plethora of material in his discography, ranging from experimental hip-hop to orchestral trip-hop and alternative-pop, it is only his collaborations with Lois Powell that have crossed our virtual desk. No matter, of course. Not only are we checking out the previous work of both musicians, but we also celebrate the singles from 2025’s ‘Lost My Way Home’ to 2026’s ‘Unstoppable’. Today, we take another saunter through Night Wolf’s discography with the new single, ‘The Laws Of Life’.

Following the well-received singles ‘Unstoppable’ and ‘Death Of The Wolf’, producer Night Wolf and singer-songwriter Lois Powell take four minutes of my life with ‘The Laws Of Life’. Self-recorded and produced, the track is dreamier than ‘Unstoppable’, a hazy, mystical concoction of synths and keys, with electric guitar plucks woven into the trip-hop soundscape. In true Night Wolf style, strings slither across the track, enhancing the orchestral element of ‘The Laws Of Life’. The thing is, while the sweep of symphonic strings across the melody gives prominence to each instrument, you can still enjoy every aspect of the track while losing yourself in its harmonious whole.

The melody itself can set you adrift on a woozy wash of wistful music, but it is Powell’s vocals that up the ante in ‘The Laws Of Life’. With her signature haunting and angelic tones, Powell acts like a siren calling you closer with her seductive voice. As with a siren, however, there is the danger of following the temptress; the chance that your hopes, dreams, and self will be dashed against jagged rocks. Enigmatic, she weaves a soothing but distinctively vulnerable web and, well, you might not be dashed against the rocks, but you will fall into a sonic well caught in her and Night Wolf’s music.

Hallmarking their fourth collaboration, Night Wolf and Lois Powell continue to enchant with tantalising trip-hop. Once again, I hope for another collaboration from these two talented artists. Until then, I’ll have both Powell and Night Wolf’s work on repeat.
