OGGY – Help Me Find A Reason (2026)
With ‘Help Me Find A Reason’, London-based artist OGGY has managed to tick every box on the checklist of a great power-pop song. I’m always here for a sing-along hit, and that’s exactly what OGGY has delivered here, with a pulsating chorus that will be going around in your head for weeks to come. I can safely say that this is the case for both me and my daughter, who I catch breaking into “believe in the moment” every chance she gets.
Let’s take a step back now: from the first bars, this is clearly a unique artist. With an opening which I can only describe as cinematic, as each note makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up, that is, if you, like me, are lucky enough to experience frisson. Then OGGY’s striking vocals come in, which emphasise her search for hope and the resolution she has in the quest for her own purpose.
I loved the Scandi-pop vibes I got from ‘Help Me Find A Reason’. It really gave me vibes of MØ but with the more rock acumen of greats of the late 90’s/early 00’s like Avril Lavigne and Michelle Branch. It gives an interesting mix of being of a time yet timeless, which not many artists have the skill to accomplish.
I was compelled to do my due diligence when it came to OGGY, just to make sure this wasn’t a flash in the pan, because such a great display of musical intelligence is rare in a new artist. I’m happy to report that all of OGGY’s work lives up to the standards ‘Help Me Find A Reason’ has set. With a back catalogue on Spotify only 5 songs strong, there is no place to hide, and she doesn’t disappoint. All I can say is I wish there were more, but ‘Help Me Find A Reason’ has been hammered in my house and from the reaction it’s got, it will continue to get a lot of airtime while we all wait to see what this powerful pop poet has in store for us in 2026!
In addition to the single, OGGY released an official lyrics video for ‘Help Me Find A Reason’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
