Planet Gloria – At Last (2025)
As a musical alchemist, Planet Gloria concocts raw pop melodies blinking with experimental, ethereal, raw and kaleidoscopic sentiments. Inviting us to join them on a “powerful, childlike and touching journey between cosmic electronic tides and melodic sweetness…”, the French musicians draw charm from the stars, hope from the comets, and set you off on an immersive sonic experience. This is our introduction to Planet Gloria, as it is surely yours with the first release reaching audiences today. Join us as we jump headfirst into the debut single, ‘At Last’.
Taken from their debut album Land #1, ‘At Last’ brims with duality in all its elements. Tugging us back to the old-school world of 90s pop in a synth-pop haze, it’s a nostalgic breath of pop memories. Yet, as much as there is a slip of yesteryear, a contemporary edge peeks from the background with a modern-day electronic pop stance. Moreover, while the line between past and present is blurred, the blend of electronic and organic arrangement gives ‘At Last’ a simplistic and kaleidoscopic nature.
Penned and composed by Loic Fraisier and Lois Eichelbrenner, listening to ‘At Last’ is like falling down a multi-coloured waterfall into a shimmering sonic pool surrounded by glittering fairy lights within an ethereal haze.
Now, that’s just the melody, but the lyricism is what adds weight. Executed by rich, warm vocals, one feels like you are chatting to an old friend who joined you in the glittering pool; however, a hint of vulnerability flutters in the story. It’s a tale of yearning, desire, patience, but also impatience as the love “can come already…”
Sincere, sentimental and heartfelt, ‘At Last’ is a charming introduction to a highly sophisticated Planet Gloria. For me, ‘At Last’ had a comforting sensation, and I cannot wait to dive into the album Land #1. Highly recommended, I suggest we all keep an eye on this emerging talent.
In addition to the singles, Planet Gloria released an official music video for ‘At Last’. You can view the video below and/or on Planet Gloria’s YouTube channel:
