Polybius – Who Watches the Watchmen (2020)

Polybius is a four-piece hard rock band from Liverpool. Consisting of Dylan Manners-Lolley (vocals, rhythm guitar), Luís Borrões (lead guitar), Mike Egan (bass) and Dominic Ward (drums), they are hoping that 2020 will be their biggest year yet. With their new single ‘Who Watches the Watchmen?’ gaining traction, this year could be a big one.

After a successful 2019 where the band played at the famous Cavern Club twice, they are keeping up the momentum. ‘Who Watches the Watchmen?’ includes thunderous vocals, melting guitar riffs, hard-hitting bass and an unrelenting drummer.

‘Who Watches the Watchmen’ has a gentle opening before picking up the pace. Manners-Lolley’s vocals hook you from the first word and draw you in further with the lyrics. The lyrics of the track get you thinking about society and how we are forced into roles. By the end of the song, you are questioning who is watching the watchmen of our society.

While the lyrics make you question everything, the guitar riffs thrash through your chest while the drums keep your head bobbing. The track is a powerful show of everything we love about hard rock. Questioning lyrics, heavy guitar, hard vocals and drums that pound your body.

‘Who Watches the Watchmen?’ is a heavy-hitting track from Polybius that makes you question everything. The vocals and music drive the point home in a thunderous sonic explosion. If this is what the band has in store for us in 2020, I cannot wait for more.
