The Lunar Keys – Dreams Are Never Spoken (2025)

Hitting you full-on between the eyes with an alternative rock smoosh, then daubing the bump with soothing pop-rock and indie-rock tinges, The Lunar Keys have a way of really making an impression. With hard-hitting, energetic, powerful and confident melodies – all infused with poetic and profound lyricism – the UK-based group captures too much energy (nervous or otherwise), floods it into intriguing songs, and reaches international ears with much praise. The latest addition to their discography is the single ‘Dreams Are Never Spoken’.

Following the well-received 2024 single, ‘Bleed’, ‘Dreams Are Never Spoken’ is an emotional rollercoaster tipping and turning through a kaleidoscopic melody. Produced with Billy Foster, the crashing drums, dynamic bass, and soaring guitars offer a strong alternative rock-grounded tune; however, just as the melody is harmonic in a rhythmic ambience, those slices of rollercoaster chaos linger in the individuality of each instrument.

The drums and guitars contribute to that crazy yell and nervous laughter everyone shows on a rollercoaster. Then again, the emotional intensity and rich vocals of ‘Dreams Are Never Spoken’s message and theme give the track its raw, passionate vulnerability. A song of inner strength and resilience, ‘Dreams Are Never Spoken’ “deals with the challenge to know and live our truth and to openly share what we truly want from others…”

Not only are UK-based The Lunar Keys a band with outstanding musical skills, but they’re one of the more warm-hearted, charitable and socially aware bands we’ve come across. Using their music as a catharsis for listeners, The Lunar Keys grabs you with a comfortable arm around your shoulder, but they go further with each single, contributing to charities. With ‘Bleed’, The Lunar Keys donated £1 of every 250 reviews or airplay to The Haemophilia Society, and with ‘Dreams Are Never Spoken’, the band are donating £1 of every 250 reviews or airplay to CureLONP1 – once again, I hope we’re one of those reviews.
