Tyler McGinnis – Admiring Ghosts (2026)

Known for his reflective, unapologetically honest, and introspective lyricism, all set to a roots-driven sound, Tyler McGinnis connects with audiences on an intimate, profound and poignant level. Yet, while the core of his music unpicks vulnerability in everyday experiences, McGinnis isn’t doom, he isn’t gloom, he’s a relatable friend holding your hand or giving you a big sonic hug. With a reputation for powerful live performances, you can expect an enjoyable show, but what about those who don’t have tickets to his latest gig? No need to worry; his music streaming is as impactful. The latest addition to his discography is the single ‘Admiring Ghosts’.

Following his debut single, ‘Geronimo’, ‘Admiring Ghosts’ is a strong Americana single laced with strong country vibes and the honest songwriting of folk. Produced by MyGinnis and Tim Graham, the track has a powerful sense of simplicity with a guitar-driven sound; however, the weave of a bold bass and drums (courtesy of Jesse Gallaway) brings a full-bodied, roots-rock richness to the track. It’s easy on the ears with mellifluous flow, but, as the instruments combine with McGinnis’ rugged vocals, there is a heaviness to ‘Admiring Ghosts’.

Just as the single has that mix of light and, not necessarily dark but a little weightier, ‘Admiring Ghosts’ delves into introspection, reflection, and some soul-searching. McGinnis explains:

“This song is built around the image of a box filled with everything we’ve ever lost – old dreams, old friendships, younger versions of ourselves – and asks when we started “admiring ghosts” instead of living in the present. It’s introspective without being bitter, grounded in storytelling…”

Just as with ‘Geronimo’, ‘Admiring Ghosts’ is tender and endearing; sincere and sensitive. With the promise of more material on the way, leading up to an album release, I plan to keep my eyes and ears on Tyler McGinnis.
