Sister Stone – Guided (2025)

Compared to the likes of Erykah Badu, Lauryn Hill, and Mary J. Blige, RnB artist Sister Stone pulls the best of the 1990s/2000s to our ears, while still retaining her contemporary authenticity. An established musician, the US-based singer-songwriter has toured extensively, headlines major festivals, and has supported acts like Porangui and Londrelle – all while winning hearts and turning heads with her online releases. Yet, amidst the craze of the modern-day music industry, Sister Stone keeps one thing present – her devotion to connecting and sharing spiritual journeys in each moment. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Guided’.

Following her well-received singles ‘Tell Me’ and ‘Flower Power’, ‘Guided’ taps its hat at late 90s RnB, igniting nostalgic memories of The Fugees and Mary J. Blige; however, while there is a link to yesteryear, the powerful message transcends time and distance proving that good music isn’t entirely marked by a specific era.

Self-recorded and produced in a mountainside studio in Tepoztlan, Mexico, ‘Guided’ is a rollercoaster ride of emotions and sounds. Like taking a turn at that fork in life, Sister Stone leads you to a realm of diversity and duality. Soulful and moving, the setting is calm and laidback, but that tranquil sincerity lingers with darkness and all that inner turmoil. Don’t fear, ‘Guided’ isn’t meant to overwhelm with doom and gloom; instead, it is a step toward the light at the end of the tunnel. By the end, you have shed your skin and waded through the kaleidoscopic RnB sound to a hopeful, optimistic, shimmering with resilience as the song winds down.

“’Guided’ feels like a classic hit with a powerful message that guides us through the dark and back into the light… It’s spiritual but relatable. I call it medicine music because it helps people get through tough times and supports them on their path.” – Sister Stone on ‘Guided’

Sincere, introspective and honest, ‘Guided’ is a gentle, mellifluous reach of hope in times where things appear particularly uncomfortable.
