Allan Jamisen – Rock & Roll American (2025)

With hit after hit, singer-songwriter Allan Jamisen is demanding attention and bringing a new brand of rock and roll to audiences in 2025. Already a veteran artist with over 30 years of experience in the industry, Jamisen has crafted a sound influenced by diverse cultural elements, notable collaborations, and a passion for music that resonates deeply within him and us listeners. Keeping the momentum after his critically acclaimed 2025 singles ‘Rise Above’ and ‘Living The Dream’ – debut and sophomore singles, respectively – the US-based musician wriggles into our ears once again with ‘Rock & Roll American’.

Produced with Danny Saber, known for his work with acts like Garbage, The Rolling Stones and David Bowie, Jamisen retains his shape-shifting nature, dragging us back to the 90s alternative rock scene with slivers of hard rock weaving throughout in a silvery sheen. With the grittiness of Bruce Springsteen’s vocals – well, actually deeper and more impactful – Jamisen brings a heavy grunginess to a strong rock and roll track. In its immersive attitude, it’s kind of like seeing a gigantic guitar-playing rockstar rising from dark waters while soulful doo-wop girls add a twinkling light to the hard-hitting mix of guitars and drums.

Melodically, ‘Rock & Roll American’ is a powerful nostalgic rock song; however, it is not nostalgia that controls the track. While Jamisen delved into themes of optimism, resilience and strength with his previous two singles, ‘Rock & Roll American’ poignantly looks to the image of yesteryear, compares it to today’s reality, but also explores the spirit of what a country might have become, has become and an idea of its future. Jamisen explains:

“The lyrics are a commentary about how it feels to be living in the U.S. today. The values seem to be inverted, convoluted and disorienting in comparison with the view of American society that I grew up with. Those values may have been diminished, but they haven’t completely disappeared… I’m not trying to live in the past, but I am holding onto the spirit of what we thought we could become.”
