Silky Vibe – Moody (2025)
The solo project of singer-songwriter, musician and producer Jeremy Randolph, Silky Vibe is an artist dedicated to “crafting smooth, soulful sounds that resonate with the heart and satisfy the mind.” – not my words, his, and such a beautiful description of the evocative music he creates. Influenced by the likes of Usher, D’Angelo and Frank Ocean, Silky Vibe binds elements of R&B, soul, and pop in his music, entwining vintage and contemporary with effortless ease. With critical acclaim, the US-based artist has turned heads with his 2025 EP, Paradise, and the singles ‘Lady’ and ‘Let’s Rock’. Today, he draws us in with the most recent release, ‘Moody’.
Following the well-received ‘Lady’, ‘Moody’ retains Silky Vibe’s soulful sound but injects the track with lilts of R&B. Smooth and laidback, a cinematic aura engulfs listeners, placing you in a chilled-out sonic bubble floating in wistful ambience; however, a hi-hat and snapping drum kick keep the pulse like a heartbeat, while a lingering guitar solo shimmers in the background. Add Silky Vibe’s hushed but bold vocals, and you find yourself lost in the tranquillity of ‘Moody’.
Is the mood good so far? Hell yeah, and it’s the most relaxed track this week – perfect for the mid-week breath of air. Melodically, you can lose yourself in ‘Moody’, but it is the theme that makes it weighty. Penned, recorded and produced in his bedroom, this intimate single offers a look at the complexity of toxic relationships but leaves the listeners asking more questions than pondering on the resolutions.
With a short discography running back to the beginning of 2025, I haven’t much to work with to discover a full representation of Silky Vibe. Yet, that being said, there is a simultaneous distinctiveness and continued progression in his work, with each song showcasing another side to his musical personality. Silky Vibe is the perfect name for this artist who oozes silky vibes. I highly recommend you get on board as we all watch this rising star.
