Wild Horse – Don’t Wait (2025)

A pioneering powerhouse on the indie music scene, UK-based foursome Wild Horse relentlessly bring their music to the masses, whether it be through constant gigging, writing, recording, or releasing moving melodies. Hailing from East Sussex, brothers John and Henry Baldwin join Ed Barnes and Jade Snowden, not only building a diverse-genre sound but turning heads with this style far beyond their UK borders. We came across Wild Horse a few years ago with 2022’s ‘Joy Ride’, and since then, we have enjoyed their music with 2023’s indie-filled ‘Do You Wanna Talk’, and the funky ‘Keep On Moving’. Today, we take a gander at their most recent release, ‘Don’t Wait’.

Following the well-received tracks ‘Read My Mind (Vibes Song)’ and ‘Overthinking’, Wild Horse release their third single of 2025, ‘Don’t Wait’. While there is a slip of a funk-tinged tone peeping from the background, ‘Don’t Wait’ leans further toward vintage power-pop, mish-mashing the upbeat jangles of The Beatles with the flair of Oasis-y indie-rock and a chip of Dodgy Britpop weaving with a kaleidoscopic shimmer. Yet, while the drums, guitars and keys (courtesy of Norwegian artist Matilda Gressberg) meet you with a powerful, toe-tapping melody, it is Jack Baldwin’s rich vocals that both soothe with mellifluous flow and make you dance with a cheeky bounce – in the best way ever.

‘Don’t Wait’ is a fun tune from the outset, pasting a smile on your face with its infectious sound, but there is something weightier in the lyricism. Unpicking the theme of change, there is a tender tremble in the tune. Overall, however, it promotes a sense of empowerment, optimism, and resilience. Wild Horse explain:

“’Don’t Wait’ is a heartfelt song about recognising when something in your life no longer works and finding the courage to let go. It’s a reminder that sometimes the best thing you can do is embrace change and move forward.”
