Nadia Desree – Gotta Let It Go (2025)

As cute as a button with sparkling blue eyes and a cheeky grin, singer-songwriter Nadia Desree can win your heart at first sight, but she is far more than a pretty face. Beneath the surface charm, Nadia Desree is poetic, profound, and creates music for comfort, solace, and deeper reflection. She released her debut single, ‘Easy Tiger’, in 2020, and in 2021, she released songs like ‘Quiet Ocean’. She continued turning heads with 2024’s ‘Hold On’ and ‘Falling’. Join us as we delve into her most recent single, ‘Gotta Let It Go’.

Following the well-received single, ‘Riot’, Ireland-based Desree saunters into 2025 with ‘Gotta Let It Go’. Produced by regular collaborator Ravi Romana, ‘Gotta Let It Go’ is a strong expression of modern-day pop music with brushes of indie-pop running throughout the arrangement. A harmonic combination of soaring guitars and shimmering piano, the ballad presents the beauty of a simplistic soundscape, yet within the simplicity, it is a kaleidoscopic wave of music washing over listeners. Add Desree’s slightly obscure vocals, and you have a song that both soothes and haunts.

Melodically, ‘Gotta Let It Go’ is a bittersweet ballad bound by sophisticated elegance in its production, but an innocent vulnerability clinging to the sonic bubble. In its poignant sound, the track perfectly expresses the oscillation between heartbreak and healing found within the lyricism. Honest in its rawness and originality, Desree unpicks the complexity of identity and relationships we face today. While filled with tender vulnerability, ‘Gotta Let It Go’ also offers empowering resilience as it “…invites listeners to find strength in letting go, embracing a sense of peace and self-discovery as they move forward without bitterness or regret.”

Sincere, serene, sentimental and introspective, Nadia Desree has captured my attention with this sophisticated release. If this is anything to go by, I cannot wait for more from this talented musician. Until the next release, I am happy to wade through her discography, and I highly recommend you join me.
