Earth-o-Naut – Bring The Light (2025)

Not necessarily founded in 2024, but certainly releasing singles since the 2024 debut ‘Call Me’, UK-based Earth-o-Naut captures the core of classic jazz, but saunters through the jazz realm, embracing various slicks of the style with each new release. With a funky edge in ‘This River’ to a heavier jazz vibe in ‘It Ain’t What You Know’, Earth-o-Naut makes jazz fun, exciting and intriguing for new audiences. The latest addition to his discography is the single, ‘Bring The Light’.

Following his single, ‘This Is Day One’, Earth-o-Naut takes us back to the 1960s and 1970s with ‘Bring The Light’. For me, the track breathes life into nostalgic memories of Chicago LPs playing on the hi-fi, while I chilled out and fell in love with each note again and again. Self-penned, composed and produced, ‘Bring The Light’ is a concoction of soaring guitars, keys, percussion, and those mighty horns enhancing a jazz-rock groove Robert Lamb would be proud of.

Now, while Earth-o-Naut is a multi-instrumentalist playing every instrument from the keys to the trumpet on ‘Bring The Light’, the pulsating drums in this instance are courtesy of renowned drummer Steve White. Yet, it is not only the harmonic jazz arrangement, so exquisitely layered and textured, but also Earth-o-Naut’s vocals that bring a further sense of soothing comfort to the track. Rich, bold and warm, listening to the single is like sitting before the fire with a cup of tea, a chocolate biscuit, and a good ol’ natter with your best friend.

Melodically, ‘Bring The Light’ is a soulful song to stick in your head and heart; however, the lyricism and theme are as weighty. Earth-o-Naut explains:

“This track is born of the notion that the people who we love and are important to us in this lifetime are found again in other lifetimes. We meet again, burst into life again, and take the journey together again.”

In addition to the single, Earth-o-Naut released an official lyric video for ‘Bring The Light’. You can view the video below and/or on his YouTube channel.
