Amelie – Blessed (2025)

At only 13 years of age, singer-songwriter Amelie is one of the youngest artists to grace our virtual pages; however, this does not mean her music is naïve or immature. In fact, the raw emotion wound in polished tones has Amelie writing songs for her generation, but with the skill of more experienced musicians. The latest addition to her discography is the single ‘Blessed’.

Following her EP, But I Love You, we continue to hear what may quickly be established as Amelie’s signature sound with ‘Blessed’. Similar to ‘Resolution’ and ‘Made It Through’, the British artist drags old-school blues-rock to new and old audiences. The smooth sweep of blues exudes from ‘Blessed’ as the drums and guitar capture the heart of Delta blues; however, this Memphis flair winds about and weaves with contemporary indie-rock, making ‘Blessed’ heavy, hard-hitting and weighty with genre-fluid versatility.

While Amelie’s poetic lyricism and moving melodies explore the challenges of, well, growing up, ‘Blessed’ is particularly unique. Beginning with her Song4U challenge, where she invited fans to share their stories as inspiration for songs, the father of a young boy named Oliver (a fan who has cerebral palsy) made a particular impact. Amelie explains: “I’ve written a lot of songs, but this is the first time I’ve written one that felt this meaningful, like it had a real purpose. I wanted to help, and I wanted people to hear Oliver’s story.”

‘Blessed’ is a song that shouts with the angst of rock music in a relentless twirl. Yet, as much as you feel relief from the shout, the track is one of strength, resilience, empowerment, and love.

‘Blessed’ will be available on streaming platforms on October 24th – Oliver’s birthday – and each stream contributes directly to helping Oliver get a wheelchair. You can pre-save the single here: https://www.amelie.club/
