Ava Valianti – Deep Fuchsia (2026)

Willingly embracing every moment of life; celebrating the good, the bad, and the ugly, Ava Valianti brings imperfection, perfection, confusion, sensibility, fear and vulnerability, and joyful confidence into shimmering sonic packages – including the sort of off-centre ribbon wrapped around them. Following her internationally acclaimed EP, petunias, Valianti continues her unpicking of life’s intricacies with ‘Deep Fuchsia’. Yet, while the overall concept retains the “…belief that ordinary things and moments can be extraordinary if you look closer…”, the single pivots to a new direction, an evolution, in her musical journey. She explains that ‘Deep Fuchsia’ “…is the start of what’s next – a louder, more colourful chapter that I’m excited to share.”

To my ear, the new single appears somewhat darker and messier, showcasing a sound that is built on raw human emotion. The flit of a pop-rocker lingers in a track wrought with indie-rock wistfulness and poignancy; listening to ‘Deep Fuchsia’ is like swimming in a ferocious, kaleidoscopic sonic river.

Anxiety builds as you find yourself swimming against the tumultuous waves, but there’s as much doubt if you travel along with the water. Yet, with its haunting and mystique– a tone enhanced by the moody vocals and melody – you are too excited and intrigued to head ashore. What will happen? What passionate pleasure lies ahead? It’s all about the complexities of human emotion, as Valianti explains:

“’Deep Fuchsia’ is about falling intensely into a love that feels vivid, all-consuming, and impossible to ignore. It’s the feeling of wanting someone so deeply that every colour, memory, and word is brighter because of them. Everything feels volatile and magical all at once, and the instability almost feels inviting. I wrote it from a space between devotion and doubt, where passion is thrilling but fragile, and you still choose to believe in it anyway.”
