Linnea’s Garden – Stop Codon (2026)
Take a smattering of riot grrrl, a pinch of goth, and a whole lotta punk chaos, and you have Linnea’s Garden – “punk rock you can dance to”. With a pair of Docs and bright pink hair, frontwoman Linnea Herzog scorches on her lead guitar, as the leather jacket-wearing bassist kicks out while strumming his bass, and the bearded wonder of a drummer smashes the back, coming together in a sense of organised chaos to send shivers down your spine and tingles along your skin. Inspired by the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Blondie, David Bowie, and The Pixies, the US-based trio marches through the USA, destroying expectations, making their mark, and winning some hearts in the frenzy.
Following their 2025 single, ‘Chaotic Bisexual Summer’, and coinciding with their Midwest Weight of the World tour, Linnea’s Garden released their most recent single, ‘Stop Codon’. Originating from a random riff that the trio threw together in “the most natural and organic way”, ‘Stop Codon’ is a celebratory song delving into the grit, grime, and righteous vengeance lurking within the group’s underlying message. Vocalist Linnea Herzog explains:
“I felt fed up with people who are always in crisis mode to get attention. ‘Stop Codon’ is like an off switch for your DNA… a metaphor for cutting off bad habits, toxic thought patterns, and exercising free will. Only you can release your own personal weight of the world.”
Hard-hitting and a bit of a punch in the face, ‘Stop Codon’ has the rush of a vodka shot during a wild party; however, as much as it has the sweep of kaleidoscopic madness in a 70s-heavy punk rock vibe, it somehow has a soothing, warming and oddly comforting effect in the crashing drums, blaring guitars, and bold bass. It’s as if the tequila is something quick before heading off with friends to take over the world and dispatch any societal expectations for something greater, better, and inspiring.
With the promise of an upcoming EP, Get Heard, Linnea’s Garden is set to continue their creative journey at full volume and speed. Are you ready for the ride? We are.
In addition to the single, Linnea’s Garden released an official music video for ‘Stop Codon’. You can view the video below and/or on their YouTube channel.
