Cassy Judy – I’ve Come So Far – Symphonic (2026)
Music is empowering. Music is solace. Music is creative expression where you can say, “well, stuff you, this is what I believe and feel”. Music is the heart. Music is the soul. Music is where you find yourself – Cassy Judy is all about this and more.
Known for her confident, engaging and honest performances, the Australian singer-songwriter holds people in the palm of her hand, taking them on a journey of discovery and hope, coupled with smile-inducing breaths of fresh air. Transforming “casual conversations into full-fledged sing-alongs, she connects with audiences as a trans woman… celebrating the rocky road of becoming one’s true self”. Join us in this adventure with her new single, ‘I’ve Come So Far – Symphonic’.
“This is about my journey of becoming a trans woman. The people that I’ve lost, the amends I’ve sought to make, the rocky but worthwhile road of becoming one’s true authentic self. This is for all of us who struggle to break through layers of conditioning to get to one’s true self.” – Cassy Judy on ‘I’ve Come So Far – Symphonic’
A reimagining of Cassy Judy’s 2023 single, ‘I’ve Come So Far’, ‘I’ve Come So Far – Symphonic’ adds an orchestral rush of music overthrowing the indie-rock original. Produced by Derek Turner at Quarterpiece Studios, the track finds the sweet spot where structure and free-flowing originality meet. Lying at the core is a steady piano twinkling while acting as a backbone to the song. The swoop of strings weaves about, each violin and cello whispering in a haunting but also soothing light. A melodic ebb and flow embracing each moment of Cassy Judy’s emotional journey.
I mention the sweet spot between structure and free-flowing originality because the song seems a languid, gentle lifting of a heavy weight on your shoulders; but there is a structured frame keeping each element together. Yet, while a structure exists, it has a pliable flexibility enhancing the veiled force within the whole. Add Cassy Judy’s serene vocals, and there’s a twinkling beauty that captivates. Highly recommended!
