Content Provider – Moon’s Gravity (2025)

Quickly establishing themselves as regulars on the Nottingham music scene, alternative rock Content Provider gained a reputation for high-powered, energetic, enthusiastic performances. While the cohesion and camaraderie between Tim Brudenall (vocals and guitar), Erfan Ghafouri (bass) and Michael Brown (drums) appear to be that of long-time friends, the truth is Content Provider began as strangers coming together during the Covid lockdown. Now, the UK-based lads saunter through realms of rock with post-punk tinges and a slice of indie-pop creeping in the musical background. Join us as we jump headfirst into their most recent release, ‘Moon’s Gravity’.

Following the 2024 album Exposure Complete, ‘Moon’s Gravity’ is a broad skip, hop and jump from ethereal haunting to hard-hitting classic rock in a five-minute shot of raw music. Opening with a simple slip of spacey, synthy serenity caught in vulnerable vocals, but with an almost siren-like seduction, Brudenall’s crisp vocals draw you closer, luring you into a moon-glistening rush of music… then the penny drops. The lighter haunting seems a fleeting moment as you fall headfirst into a rush of hard rock music. Kind of like the sirens drawing sailors to their doom; a tantalising taunt followed by a crash upon the rocks.

Produced by Bandi, a sophisticated concoction of thrashing drums, a pulsating bass, and soaring guitars elegantly winds about you as you find yourself in a sonic hurricane. Interestingly, as much as the track has sophistication and maturity to it, ‘Moon’s Gravity’ is wrought with raw angst and ferocity, simply pounding across instruments so you can scream along in the swirl of sound. Even more interesting is how the force of the melody sucks you in while Brudenall’s rich vocals hold you close, refusing to let you go to the kaleidoscopic winds.

What is my overall opinion of Content Provider and ‘Moon’s Gravity’? Gravity might be the crush of humanity, so it makes sense that lads oscillate between gravity and anti-gravity. Oscillating between the pressure of life while finding a place of creativity free of regulation. If this is anything to go by, I will gladly recommend Content Provider and cannot wait for more from this trio.
