Dullahan – Made Of Stone (2025)

‘Made Of Stone’ is the earth-shattering new single from Irish rockers Dullahan. It is guaranteed to blow the minds of those who prefer their rock to lean on the heavier side!

The track opens with a chugging guitar before being joined by rhythmic drums and a subtle bass. The vocals are provided by Allan McGreevy, who undeniably sounds a lot like Dave Grohl. They share an appealing rock voice, but don’t mind letting out a scream when necessary. “Til the sky falls down on me / I’m still standing made of stone… indestructible!”.

McGreevy spoke of the inspiration behind the song’s title, “…a straight lift from one of my favourite bands, Motorhead. I bought the album March Or Die when I turned 13. The opening track is called ‘Stand’ and the final lyric is “forget your blood and bones, stand like you’re made of stone”. For someone who has struggled with nerves throughout my life, that lyric became my mantra – made of stone.” He needn’t struggle with nerves, as he is your archetypal frontman.

McGreevy is also joined in the band by his brother Gareth, who plays drums. Completing the line-up are John McHugh (bass) and David Hanna (guitar). The band specialise in frantic yet cohesive rock, filled with high adrenaline. As well as the obvious Foo Fighters comparisons, they are also in the same vein as Thin Lizzy and Gary Moore. The band have released two singles prior to this one, ‘Stand’ and ‘Damn That Bonebreaker’. These also have pulsating energy and HUGE guitars.

Along with the single, Dullahan released a clever music video for ‘Made of Stone’ which shows an 8-year-old Allan (played by Teddy Smith) uncovering a guitar whilst trying to fend off boredom.

‘Made Of Stone’ will undoubtedly maintain the excitement behind this axe-shredding band. It contains a defiant message too: “I’ve been through this hell / But I’m still here”. This is the type of song you’d play before you go into battle. It would also make a great WWE theme (if the band would like to cash in on this). The track maintains a relentless pace throughout, to the extent that the listener will probably need a lie down afterwards. With these guitar Gods, no neck is safe!
