Electric High – Ain’t Got Nothing But Time (2025)

With a reputation for high-octane live performances, hard-hitting melodies, and engaging lyricism bringing weightiness to any song, rock group Electric High is just that – it puts you on an electric high with the sonic electricity emanating from the band. Then again, you don’t need to be at a gig to enjoy the power of Electric High; the Norway-based fivesome have a way of transcending studio recordings to bring the raw passion of their live show through our speakers to our ears. The latest addition to their discography is the single, ‘Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’.

Following their well-received single ‘Thick As Thieves’, PV Staff (vocals), Olav Iversen (vocals), Marius Mørch (guitars), Einride Torvik (bass), and Tor Helge Opdahl (drums) bring old-school rock to the fore in ‘Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’. Recorded at Solslottet Studio, Bergen, and produced with Iver Sandøy, ‘Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’ grabs 70s rock by the balls and brings the retro vibe to modern-day audiences. Inspired by the grit of AC/DC with the swagger of The Rolling Stones, Electric High strut across the soundscape with brazen confidence.

A song that brings the energy of yesteryear to have you twirling about in a kaleidoscopic sonic whirlpool, you can lose yourself in the pounding drums, soaring guitars, bold bass, and PV Staff’s rich vocals. Yet, while you become lost in a glitter of sound, ‘Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’ is a song about calm, tranquillity, and a laid-back saunter along a clear lane with fairies flitting about. Frontman PV Staff explains:

“’Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’ is a laid-back, head-nodding anthem for anyone who feels the pressure to keep up. It’s a reminder to take a breath, drop the stress, and just take it easy, because everything usually works out in the end. It’s about letting go of all that ticking-clock anxiety and just cruising with the groove. No rush. No rules. Just rock.”

The theme song for that “keep calm and carry on” adage, ‘Ain’t Got Nothing But Time’ breathes serenity, sincerity, and the optimism of taking a step away from the chaos.
