INEGO – Caught On You (2026)
Irrepressible indie-rock meets disco-funk group INEGO are back in town, back on the scene, and, well, just simply here again to rock your mind and captivate your heart (not literally, of course). Now, this return might be only on a streaming level, courtesy of Spotify, but it’s good to have the Manchester sextet ready for playlists. The latest addition to INEGO’s discography is the single, ‘Caught On You’.
This is not our first taste of INEGO. A few years ago, we climbed on the INEGO bandwagon with their well-received debut album Departures. Taken from their upcoming sophomore album Arrivals, ‘Caught On You’ drags listeners back to the 1970s/1980s funk scene, but with a thread of rock music swimming through the melody.
Sprinkling their magic production skills on ‘Caught On You’, Liam Radburn and Gavin Monaghan have Stefan Guettel’s bold bass beating beneath, Dan Myers and Toby Belshaw’s guitars dancing and soaring, Lukas Evans-Jones pulses with his drums, Andrew Markwick’s keyboards shimmering, and Pete McKenzie Hodge’s percussion rounds things out with a cheeky kick.
The melody is intriguing, easy to listen to, and an uplifting breath of air on a dull Thursday. Yet, it is Belshaw’s vocals that grab your attention, dancing together in a cheerful twirl.
All lost in a brush of zealousness, you hear not only a toe-tapping hit of body-swaying fun, but also a polished, instinctual understanding and camaraderie between the band members. They aren’t here to simply play you a song; they’re here to bring something extraordinary.
So, what are my thoughts about ‘Caught On You’ and INEGO? A vibrant, fun, lively fusion of funk and rock, ‘Caught On You’ appeals to audiences with different preferences, different styles, and different generations. As for the band itself? I’m quite content to have their music on repeat and cannot wait for the upcoming album.
