Jessica Green – Let Go (2026)

With her bright smile, soft eyes, and delicate features, you would imagine Jessica Green to be that lady next door who bakes cookies and invites you over for a cup of tea and good ol’ natter. Along with her puppy, Max, Green is the gal you want for your best friend because you know she’s a nice person; then again, never trust a complete sunshine smile.

A real toughie beneath the calm surface, the US native celebrates life in song, but also as a brave adventurer. She sold all of her possessions, packed up the car, grabbed Max, and set off on a two-year journey experiencing “…breath-taking beauty along with grief, loneliness and a deep personal reckoning.” When she came back home, she picked up a guitar and poured every moment of that self-discovery into her upcoming album, Finding Home. Join us as we delve into the core track, ‘Let Go’.

The first release since her 2021 album, Without Cover, ‘Let Go’ is a song about, well, letting go. Green explains, “Written in the aftermath of a breakup that sparked a life-changing journey, ‘Let Go’ captures the tension between knowing a relationship has ended and being able to truly accept it… .”

A collaborative production between Green and Bri Sailors, ‘Let Go’ is, honestly, one of those songs made for a road trip where you take a breath of liberating air and feel your cares disappear. Yes, it stems from the pain of losing true love; however, the swooning mixture of soaring guitars and bold drums is so freeing that you know everything will be alright. Perhaps it’s the folk-pop style or Green’s silky vocals perfectly captured in the colourful sonic bubble? Whatever it is, this song is an anthem for picking yourself up after falling to the depths of despair.

Known for emotional honesty, introspection, playful and empowering music, ‘Let Go’ is the breakup song that spurred self-discovery and self-love. With the promise of a sophomore album, I am eager to hear what else Jessica Green has up her sleeve.
