Korova – Adore (2026)

Liverpool five-piece Korova have released their brand new single ‘Adore’, which is the first step in a new direction according to the band. It definitely sounds like the heaviest thing they’ve done in their career thus far. The music is pretty dark, in the same style as artists like The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen or even The Stone Roses for that matter.

The intro is almost a minute long and builds the suspense and intrigue. The instrumentation is very reflective and treats you to light drumming and cymbals, courtesy of Thomas Gratton. The drum and guitar break at the start is heavily influenced by 70’s classic rock. The imaginative lyrics paint a picture of deep infatuation: “Space blue eyes shine from my love / Splits the sky with one look / Heaven can try it’s not enough / Heaven’s beside me not above“. Vocalist Connor Lally sounds distinctively similar to John Power from Cast.

All of Korova’s tracks possess a dense, expansive sound. Anthony Hogg’s lovely chugging bass is complemented by guitars which are classic and familiar sounding. ‘Adore’ is backed by nice synths and explodes into life during the chorus, “I don’t need no more / All I adore / I don’t need no more / All I adore is you”.

Korova blend genres and styles to create a unique amalgamation of sound they can call their own. They have gigged all over Liverpool and beyond, and have been played on multiple radio stations including BBC, In Demand Radio and more. Their previous single, ‘The Wrong Kind Of Potion’, was described by Dockside Promotions as“…a track that showcases their excellent musicianship, and songwriting, making them one to watch out for“.

‘Adore’ has been crafted over a few months and will form part of a five-track EP which the band plan to release this year. There is plenty to admire from this atmospheric and intense piece, whether it be the gorgeous cascading guitars which begin and close the track or the accomplished and varied drumming. It is an absolute epic number from one of the most exciting bands on the Liverpool music scene.
