Lana Crow – What Brings You Back (2026)

Writing with “the honesty of a diary and the energy of a dance floor…”, singer-songwriter Lana Crow is known for her messages of vulnerability, truth, liberation, and self-discovery with an unapologetic, lay things bare in the stark sunlight attitude. Weaving melodic hooks with raw emotional content, the UK-based indie-pop artist not only evokes deep emotion but also gets people thinking with profound content. The latest addition to her discography is the single, ‘What Brings You Back’.

Retaining the brooding, poignant attitude heard in the previous single, ‘Orwellian Times’, ‘What Brings You Back’ keeps the intensity and moodiness while lightening the soundscape. Cinematic and ambient, the soundscape quivers with sonic haze as Crow’s vocals add a palpable duality of tension and relief. In other words, ‘What Brings You Back’ is a saunter through a wistful sonic fog with vulnerability tentatively teetering on the edge.

Produced by George Harris, ‘What Brings You Back’ is a weave of 90s indie-pop and pop-rock. Keyboards as the cushioning, drums pulsating in the background, a soothing guitar sliding along the cushion – all offering a sense of calm, tranquillity and sincerity. Interestingly, just as the track’s gentleness brings serenity to your heart with that refreshing relief, there is a hesitant gleam of fragility and a tremulous tension.

Introspective and atmospheric, ‘What Brings You Back’ is Crow’s imagining of how God would sound if speaking directly to us. It’s an exploration of connection, loss and fear with a hopeful heart. Crow explains:

“This is how I imagine God would talk to us if we could hear that voice. I do not think of God as some distant figure. I was told many years ago that it is this immense intelligence, half of which resides somewhere beyond our human comprehension and another within each human being, and it stuck with me. I believe we are here for experience, and we have more control over what we experience than we realise. We are connected in ways we do not comprehend, but if we look closer, we can clearly see that – it’s about whether we’re willing to.”

In addition to the single, Lana Crow released an official lyric video for ‘What Brings You Back’. You can view the video below and/or on her YouTube channel.
