Magdi Aboul-Kheir – Found The Way (2026)
From string quartet to metal, baroque to trance, jazz to pop, and “late romanticism to urban groove”, musician and journalist Magdi Aboul-Kheir embraces a passion for music in all its forms, styles and designs. In his words, “plays the piano but loves to compose by heart and mind”, the German-based artist does just that – he creates art as a musical alchemist. In 2025, he released his electro album, Into The Retroverse, leaning toward 80s synths, and his album Nubes Sonorae (Ambient Cloudscapes) sent listeners floating across the sky on a sonic bubble. Today, we take a look at his track, ‘Found The Way’.
Taken from his 2026 album, The Mirror Of Truth, ‘Found The Way’ is, as Aboul-Keir explains, “… a deeply personal and emotional track from the album The Mirror Of Truth… It’s an album with minimal-like music for multiple pianos – it plays sonically with space and resonance, deals with human relationships, the passing of time and profound feelings. ‘Found The Way’ is about connection, healing, love, and finding a good path in life.”
Sparkling with duality, ‘Found The Way’ oscillates between tragedy and triumph in a simplistic yet complex way. Minimalistic and barebones, the track is entirely piano-driven, featuring an organic piano exclusively; however, despite having only a single instrumental element, the arrangement hints at a plethora of various players, each moment a soul-stirring swarm of kaleidoscopic sound performed by Aboul-Kheir.
A rollercoaster of raw emotion, ‘Found The Way’ pulls you through a musical journey from the heartfelt opening and gentle lull to a rush of music bombarding you from every direction in a rambunctious flush of head-twirling sound, then back down to a tranquil closing, leading out with pleasant warmth. Up and down, back and forth, tiny ripples and massive waves, Aboul-Kheir captures the tempestuous cycle of love and life in a six-minute instrumental.
If you aren’t a fan of instrumentals and show indifference to classical music, Aboul-Kheir will change your mind. Caged by classical structure, but a mammoth of contemporary, free-flowing music, this composer proves you needn’t stick to a certain style to express raw emotion, and that’s what music is – raw emotion.
