From the earlier days of “producing beats to craft intricate soundscapes using FruityLoops and Ableton Live…”, Mantrix Storm has a strong link to the hip-hop and house music scene. Never one to remain stagnant, the Dutch musician continues to evolve with a walk through various slicks of rock, ranging from indie to alternative rock, and classic rock, even a bit of soul and RnB peeping in the background. The European solo artist reached our ears a few months back with ‘U, de stad’, and he returns to our virtual desk with the latest single, ‘Speel geen game’. Following the well-received singles ‘U, de stad’ and ‘Ochtendlicht’, ‘Speel geen game’ draws together RnB tones with soulful AI-generated vocals. The recurring phrase “Speel een spelletje, maar ik speel geen game” (play a little game, but I don’t play games) hints at a playful yet sincere approach to relationships.”
