Natasha Aponté – Sense of Desire (2025)

Known for her enigmatic stage presence and evocative music, Natasha Aponté brings a “rare sense of intention and refinement to the R&B/pop space…” This is my introduction to Aponté, but she has been turning heads for some time, winning hearts with her soulful vocals and infectious performances.  From her 2020 single ‘XTSY’ to 2021’s ‘Late Night’, her 2023 album Abusers In Love, and the most recent release, ‘Sense of Desire’, the US-based musician eagerly explores the complexities of human connection with flawless elegance and fiery zeal. Join us as we delve into her new single, ‘Sense of Desire’.

Following the single ‘Want My Love’, Natasha Aponté saunters into 2025 with ‘Sense of Desire’. Produced by ColbyKeyz, ‘Sense of Desire’ shifts from ‘Want My Love’s pulsating R&B melody to a stronger brand of electronic pop with slivers of R&B entwined in the blanket of sound. While you can enjoy the song by sitting back and letting it blast from your speakers, ‘Sense of Desire’ is to be felt and not only heard.

Shoving you into an ethereal soundscape, you find yourself lost in a sonic bubble floating in a wistful haze. The shimmering synths and pulsating beats both rock your body and swirl you about, while simultaneously acting as an anchor in the hazy sphere. For me, the vibrancy of the track enhances the soul-stirring quality of the melody, but it is Aponté’s vocals that truly drive the tune. Intriguing with the obscure lilt of her rich voice, but somehow comforting in its warm richness, ‘Sense of Desire’ has the kick of something exciting to come and holds you close like hugging an old friend.

Melodically, the song is weighty, but it is the theme and lyricism that up the ante. Aponté explains: “I wanted the song to feel like a sexy night in a foreign city – something that makes you feel good, free, and lit up inside… sensual, warm, and something you can dance to.”
