Night Wolf and Lois Powell – Lost My Way Home (2025)
On one hand, you have producer, sound designer and engineer Night Wolf; on the other, you have singer-songwriter Lois Powell. Smoosh the two hands together in a powerful clap, and you have an intriguing collaborative affair culminating in the single, ‘Lost My Way Home’. Both hailing from the UK, Night Wolf is known for alternative music that has been used on several film and TV placements. Lois Powell is the voice of the project, described as delicate, deeply honest, intimate and unguarded. While this is our introduction to each artist, they are by no means newbies or one-trick ponies, so join us as we take our first dive into their collaborative single, ‘Lost My Way Home’.
Recorded and produced by Night Wolf at his home studio, ‘Lost My Way Home’ is a testament to his mastery of music as a talented musical alchemist. Personally, I imagined a slew of synth-driven sounds to reach my ears with ‘Lost My Way Home’; how wrong I was. Binding organic instruments in a delicate silvery package, the single features an acoustic piano, percussion, drums, and strings in a haunting orchestral symphony. From the simplistic piano leading in, to the ethereal slice of violin, and the steadfast cymbals, each moment brims with the raw emotion of ‘Lost My Way Home’s theme. Night Wolf explains:
“This song was very much created from a feeling and a dark place… I was working through my own problems in life and decided, like many, to write a song about it. It’s about finally accepting the current situation I have put myself into. It’s about letting go just enough to realise that you have to fight on or just curl up in a ball and die. ‘Lost My Way Home’s title dictates the feel of this song.”
The melody stands out in its enigmatic wave of sound, but it is Powell’s vocals that tip the scale. Dancing across and swimming within, her voice flutters between delicate fragility and hushed calm. This is the first collaboration between Powell and Night Wolf, and I am eager to hear more from the pair.
