Rhythm Pals – Lookin’ Good (2025)

Drawing together the creative skills of two dads – one animator and one musician – Rhythm Pals is a collaborative kids music project sharing thoughtful, meaningful, significant messages in uplifting, fun-filled, inspiring tunes. Aimed at listeners under the age of 10, although anyone of any age can enjoy the music, Rhythm Pals explores life with the aim to empower, teach, and encourage understanding. The latest addition to their discography is the single, ‘Lookin’ Good’.

Following the single ‘I’m Your Friend’ – a song about friendship and how we can remain friends even with differing ideals – ‘Lookin’ Good’ taps into the realm of self-worth, identity, and boosting individuality while understanding that some situations call for specific behaviour. Rhythm Pals explains:

“’Lookin’ Good’ is about self-expression through clothing. It encourages kids to be bold and creative with their outfits, while also learning that some situations call for specific types of attire. It’s fun, empowering, and silly, but with a subtle, meaningful message about confidence and context.”

As a children’s song, ‘Lookin’ Good’ is a fun-filled few minutes of bouncy, toe-tapping, infectious music brimming with high-quality pop-filled vibes; however, within the threads of bubble-gum pop, funky grooves ooze from the soaring guitar and pulsating drums (courtesy of renowned drummer Petar Janjic). Slips of piano and keyboards peep from the background, giving a twinkling shine to the track. Interestingly, as much as this is a children’s song, it breathes life into old-school indie-pop and funk that older people can appreciate.

Melodically, ‘Lookin’ Good’ is ideal for any children’s music playlist and can be enjoyed in all its funky, poppy, soulful sounds. Yet, for me, it is the clear vocals that are the stand-out feature. Rich and filled with warmth, you can happily sing along to the important lyrics with a smile on your face…. Then, it gets stuck in your head, and you’ll be humming and singing along for days.
