Ron Briskin – Heart of Clay (2025)
Dragging the classic 2000s indie-rock sound to our ears in 2025, Ron Briskin is a young man taking the best of yesteryear to a modern-day audience with timeless themes to resonate across borders. Inspired by various genres and international artists, UK-based Briskin doesn’t try to copy indie-rock artists but rather encourages appreciation with a unique stamp on the style. While this is our introduction to Briskin and his band, the lads have been turning heads for several years since their debut single ‘Ghosts’ in 2021, to the most recent album, Heart of Clay. Join us as we take a look and listen to his single, ‘Heart of Clay’.
If you take a liking to acts like The Killers and The Strokes, then Ron Briskin’s ‘Heart of Clay’ will fit happily into your personal playlist. Following the well-received ‘Forgetting It All’ and ‘Robot with a Heart’, the title track from his new album is bold, confident, and sort of bouncy in the way an indie song can be. Produced by Daniel Chamorro, with mixing by Lev Shurov and mastering by Pete Maher, ‘Heart of Clay’ weaves a kaleidoscopic tapestry of music to impress onlookers; however, while each instrument winds with harmonic union, there is individuality, so you can hear and appreciate every element.
While the drums bind with soaring guitars and a bold bass, ‘Heart of Clay’ may be somewhat rambunctious, but there is vulnerability lingering in the melody. Delicately unpicking the universal theme of self-growth, identity, and finding a light at the end of any tunnel, the single might be titled ‘Heart of Clay’, but it’s a heart pulsating with passion and hope for every listener.
In addition to the single, Ron Briskin released an official music video for ‘Heart of Clay’. You can view the video below and/or on his YouTube channel.
