Rosemary Schultz – Run With The Wolves (2025)
With a reputation for raw honesty, haunting vocals, and a gritty blend of harmonica and guitar, singer-songwriter Rosemary Schultz brings her rebellious spirit and unabashed, unapologetic defiance to the stage (and our ears). Challenging social norms and celebrating freedom, the US-based artist has turned heads far beyond her Nashville scene, reaching international audiences with songs like ‘Betty & Jesse’. This is my introduction to Schultz, so why don’t you join me as I jump headfirst into her most recent release, ‘Run With The Wolves’?
Following the well-received ‘Betty & Jesse’, ‘Run With The Wolves’ shifts to something more upbeat, gritty, and sort of untamed. Produced, mixed and recorded by Jared Corder, ‘Run With The Wolves’ is a bold combination of dynamic guitars and pulsating drums shoved together in a charming melody. While there is a wild attitude entwined with the fiery arrangement, the song is simultaneously soothing, languid and serene. It’s that unbroken shout of strength, resilience and “I’m loving this moment” with an indulgent breath of fresh air.
The song brims with Americana attitudes and a rock-tinged edge of old-school folk. Vivid and immersive, the tune sends you off into a field of hope and strength. Add Schultz’s vocals and her confident presence, and you find yourself twirling about, holding hands, and laughing with a cheeky wink and dancing feet. Melodically, the track is powerful, but it is the message that enhances its profoundness. Schultz explains:
“’Run With The Wolves’ was written during a season of transition – a time when I was letting go of an old chapter and slowly finding my way into a new one… At its core, this song is about freedom – the kind that comes from knowing your soul is untouchable and meant to run wild. It’s also a quiet nod to the power of women standing together, running side by side, finding strength in their wildness and in each other.”
