Alex Ko – Broken-Hearted Club (2025)

Known for his energetic, enthusiastic and soulful performances, singer-songwriter Alex Ko has carved his name in the RnB music scene. Internationally recognised with extensive touring, features in notable publications, radio play, interviews, and critically acclaimed releases, the UK-based Ko has turned and continues to turn people’s heads. He turned our heads last year with his well-received single ‘Fantasy’, and today he slides over our virtual desk with his new single, ‘Broken-Hearted Club’.

Following the acclaimed debut EP, Sentiments, Ko drags us back to the pop and RnB sounds of the late 90s and early 2000s. Sitting at the table with Justin Timberlake and Usher, Ko looks at the complexities of love in the 21st century. Skipping from crying us a river to bringing sexy back, there is an old-school soulfulness in his vocals reminiscent of the 1990s RnB artists. Yet, behind the rich warmth and mellifluous tones, there is a twinge of vulnerability capturing raw human emotion. Then again, the song is not about melancholy, but the empowerment of overcoming pain, reaching to the future, and exploring self-worth.

“This song is about stepping out of your own negativity and giving yourself a break from heartache. Surround yourself with people who lift you up and join the club of no broken hearts.” – Alex Ko on ‘Broken-Hearted Club’

Lyrically and in its vocal execution, Alex Ko takes your hand and guides you through the dark tunnel to a brighter light with ‘Broken-Hearted Club’; however, one cannot forget the melody. Brimming with bold beats and synth-driven tones, the instrumentation builds the tunnel in a kaleidoscopic swirl. It begins with dense, dark colours almost dripping around you, but as the song progresses, the walls start to shine, the air becomes fresher, and the synths set you free.

In addition to the single, Alex Ko released an official music video for ‘Broken-Hearted Club’. You can view the video below and/or on his YouTube channel.
