Love Ghost – Worth It (2025)

One band that is unafraid to step into the more provocative areas of life – and I’m not talking sociopolitical commentary or anti-war anthems – I’m speaking of those dark, gritty areas of self-reflection and mental health where you question, ponder, find yourself confused and sometimes scared. This band is Love Ghost. For several years, the US-based group has taken journeys through our minds and souls with a complex combination of pop-punk, alternative rock, pop-rock, rap rock, and even a dash of metal here and there. The one constant is their understanding to create a place of solace for all listeners. The latest addition to their discography is the single, ‘Worth It’.

Following the well-received single ‘Car Crash’, ‘Worth It’ steps away from the minimalistic, stark acoustic ballad to a hard-hitting punch of alternative rock with pop-punk tinges. Produced with Daniel Alcala, ‘Worth It’ draws on the power of 1990s/2000s emo-rock/pop-rock bands like Jimmy Eat World and Dashboard Confessional, in a crash of pounding drums, scorching guitars, and a solid bassline. Mature and elegant, Alcala waves his sophisticated production wand across the melody, bringing a twinkle to the arrangement; however, while the track is glittering with kaleidoscopic charm, it also brims with fragility and a barebones sparseness that reaches into your soul with a haunting vulnerability.

The third collaboration with The Skinner Brothers, ‘Worth It’ has an extra punch of alternative rock-inspired flavour. Joining the raw, rugged energy of The Skinner Brothers with more raw, rugged energy from Love Ghost, you can expect a slap on the cheek with the music. The thing is, while the potential for a thwack between the eyes and slap on the cheek exists, ‘Worth It’ is a gentle caress and a big hug, taking you from the darkest of hours where you question your self-worth, to the lightest of moments when you know you are not alone.

In addition to the single, Love Ghost released an official music video for ‘Worth It’. You can view it below and/or on their YouTube channel.
