Track of the Day: Adam Wedd – FIGURE IT OUT (2026)
Described by The Script’s Danny O’Donoghue as “a great voice” and The Human League’s Martyn Ware as “the best songs that Leonard Cohen never wrote…”, singer-songwriter Adam Wedd is making waves among industry professionals as well as the average non-industry dude listening to music on his daily commute. So, what made UK-based Wedd decide to become a musician? In our interview with him, Wedd shared that he “tried to give up at least three times ‘cos it can be so hard as a DIY artist…”, but we are so pleased he didn’t leave music behind him; if he did, we wouldn’t have his enthusiastic songs to play on repeat.
Ending 2025 with ‘THIS CHRISTMAS (drinkin’ 42)’, Adam Wedd steps into 2026 with his new single, ‘FIGURE IT OUT’. Recorded and produced by Ben Collier, ‘FIGURE IT OUT’ is a shift from chilled-out pop-rock to high-voltage alternative rock. Faster, feistier, and more energetic, the new single bursts with an in-your-face rambunctiousness and come-at-me attitude. The fantastic stomp into 2026, ‘FIGURE IT OUT’ may be only two-and-a-half minutes long, but it captures the passion, power and excitement of a new journey.
While the track is a bombastic burst of heightened energy, leaving you to slide along with a courageous grin on your face, ‘FIGURE IT OUT’ is not all smiles and zealous encouragement. In truth, and this is just me listening to the lyrics, ‘FIGURE IT OUT’ tackles the intricacies of profound challenges; it clips at the need to work through a difficult situation, hopefully reaching an acceptance and acknowledgement of what you’ve been through and what lies ahead.
So, what’s my opinion on Adam Wedd’s launch into 2026? ‘FIGURE IT OUT’ is that head-spinning, heart-throbbing, pulsating blast of music you need to scream along to for those few moments of relief and desire to find clarity. With the promise of a new album, A Hangover Full Of Memories, I am keen to hear more from this talented artist.
