Vincent J. Rigney – Tidal Wave Of Love (2026)

Following his 2025 album, Songs From The Water Tower, Vincent J. Rigney stepped into 2026 with his bluesy single ‘Sun & Moon’. It was simplistic, chilled-out and easy on the ears… well, mostly. The one element I found particularly striking in ‘Sun & Moon’ is the old-school blues-rock sound, dragging me back to the 70s and 80s; however, we’re not looking at that track in this review. Discarding the “sit back and feel a bit sad” groove of ‘Sun & Moon’, Rigney returns to our ears with his signature rock ‘n’ roll music, complete with a Roy Orbison slick and Elvis Presley smoulder.

An artist to write about life, love and our experiences in this place we call reality, the UK-based Rigney looks to resonate with audiences using personal tales bound in charming rock ‘n’ roll packages; not necessarily in this case. Instead of a profound, poignant, weighty theme entwined in the toe-tapping tune, ‘Tidal Wave Of Love’ can be viewed in two ways: first, a deep discussion of how the woman in question healed Rigney’s heart and helped him through challenging situations – emotional, mental and possibly physical.

On the other hand, it’s a rather cheeky, sexy and a bundle of sneaky glimpses leaning toward a less than innocent rendezvous. Your choice, but, and this is my opinion, Rigney’s dulcet tones carry a little impish mischief that leans toward the latter option. Silky and smooth, but with a grittier line making it a tad bolder and playful, ‘Tidal Wave Of Love’ wins your heart with a suave bow.

Recorded locally in Rigney’s hometown of Corby, Northamptonshire, ‘Tidal Wave Of Love’ sees him cementing himself as an old-school rock ‘n’ roller in a contemporary scene that will always adore a slip of yesteryear. Hearing the difference between ‘Sun & Moon’ and ‘Tidal Wave Of Love’, I am keen to hear the next single from Vincent J. Rigney.
