Artsipolo – Slow Down (2025)
Quickly earning a reputation for electric, energetic, senses-ensnaring performances, Irish group Artsipolo can hold an audience in their hand with moving music. Yet, as much as their live shows can hypnotise, the genre-fusing Dubliners turn international heads with their melodies. Unfortunately, we aren’t in the position to attend one of Artsipolo’s gigs, but we can enjoy the next best thing – studio releases. Join us as we jump into the most recent addition to their discography, ‘Slow Down’.
Following their 2023 debut single, ‘Glass Hands’, Artsipolo bring the enigmatic aura of live sessions to our ears in ‘Slow Down’. Recorded and produced at Beardfire Studios with Rohan Healy, Al Quiff, and David Virgin, ‘Slow Down’ pours elements of indie-rock, hip-hop, rap and classic rock in a kaleidoscopic musical concoction. Drawing together a bold bass, crashing drums and soaring guitars in harmonic symphony, you can lose yourself in rhythmic rock vibes; however, amidst the well-put-together melody, a hint of ruggedness and grit brings weightiness to an already eclectic song.
An immersive song, ‘Slow Down’ stole my breath from the outset with the hard-hitting music clasping my heart and slowly squeezing, but in the best way possible. Yet, the real cherry on top is the vocals. Tinging the tune with a sweep of rap, its spoken word execution hits you in the face, brimming with raw vulnerability. Each moment draws you in a little further, culminating in a poetic few minutes of music that sends chills down your spine and tingles your skin.
So, my overall opinion of Artsipolo and ‘Slow Down’? Winding different genres with complementary uniqueness, Artsipolo stand out as one of the more intriguing bands I have come across. I am eager to hear more from this highly talented group.
In addition to the single, Artsipolo released an official music video for ‘Slow Down’. You can view the video below and/or on their YouTube channel.
