Chandra – It’s OK (2025)
For all those moments when you find yourself dwelling in a dark, miserable, vulnerable space, there is a song to help you out. For all those moments when you find yourself in absolute bliss, giggling and enjoying the moment, there is a song for you. Music is a creative expression that brings to the surface the most intimate part of our beings; Chandra fully understands this. With each melody, he encapsulates and unpicks the raw emotion, allowing you to celebrate each tragedy and triumph fully.
Following his well-received tracks, ‘Just With You’ and ‘Winners’, ‘It’s OK’ is Chandra’s fifth single of 2025 – another chance to twirl about and really feel those moments. Produced by Elliot Vaughn, ‘It’s OK’ is an explosion of power-pop and rock music, rushing at you from every direction with the full flair of 90s pop-rock. Joined by Vaughn on drums, Chris Wong on bass, Mike Paul on guitar, and Chandra taking the lead with rich, powerful vocals, ‘It’s OK’ lifts you, spins you about, and has you bouncing off the walls while singing along to the infectious lyrics.
Melodically, ‘It’s OK’ is a stadium fist-pumping anthem, but it is equally stirring as you jump about your kitchen, waving your hands in the air like you just don’t care. For me, this track holds particular significance, as I’m sure it does for others. Instead of heightening an original triumph that is so obviously, supposedly hitting the milestones, ‘It’s OK’ pulls you out of the slump where you question your life and self-worth to a massive, fresh feeling that it’s alright to not meet societal expectations. Chandra explains:
“I spent so many years of my life surrounded by people who were cruising off into the academic sunset… getting promotions, getting ‘success’, seemingly winning at life. And it used to really get me down because I felt like there was an expectation for me to do the same. But eventually, I learned to have faith in myself and realise that I was on my own journey and didn’t need to have my life’s timeline dictated to me. This song is for anyone and everyone who has experienced that dark place; it’s ok to not be ok. In fact, it’s freakin’ awesome.”
In addition to the single, Chandra released a music video for ‘It’s OK’. You can view the video below and/or on Chandra’s YouTube channel.
