Common Trouble – Go Go Go (2026)
If you were sitting in a school cafeteria gazing across at all those cliques, Common Trouble would be chatting and laughing along with Arctic Monkeys, The Strokes and Oasis. Inspired by the likes of these established artists, the USA-based band offers a sound distinctive to Common Trouble, but brims with the familiarity of yesteryear’s alternative/indie-rock bands. Showcasing the diversity of Los Angeles, Common Trouble’s members are as varied as the vibrant city – frontman and multi-instrumentalist Dan Wolfe, accomplished musician and guitar tech for bands like LA Guns and Poison, Kent Holmes, and on the drums is former bullfighter – yep, bullfighter – Victor Huerta.
Following the 2025 single, ‘Lullaby’, Common Trouble steps into 2026 with ‘Go Go Go’. Unlike ‘Lullaby’ and ‘Stix N’ Stonez’, ‘Go Go Go’ comes at you with a heavy alt-rock sound that encourages a moment of air guitar and rock star struts around the room. Binding crashing drums with a bold bass, slicing guitars and shimmering synths bring a cinematic, slightly obscure lilt to the rock-driven tune.
One element I love about the melody is how each instrument has individuality, yet everything fits in rhythmic harmony. The drums are solid and anchoring, but powerful and intense. Slight breaks in ‘Go Go Go’ allow guitars to shine, while still keeping an entwined balance of every element. Fun, bright and hard-hitting, ‘Go Go Go’ has a weighty sheen, but a lovely happiness shining across the melody.
For me, Wolfe’s vocals are one of the more intriguing factors. Gritty and rugged with a punk-rock brashness, his voice dances across ‘Go Go Go’. However, just as it dances and seems to move with the melody, there is also a sense of dominance, giving ‘Go Go Go’ greater heaviness, kick, and oomph.
Recorded and produced by Wolfe in his home studio, ‘Go Go Go’ is ”…a hands-on approach to creating a song that captures the energy and excitement that first made me fall in love with guitar-driven alternative rock.” Even if you aren’t the biggest fan of alt-rock, we highly recommend listening to this song. Who knows, it might inspire your inner rock star.
